PlutusDoc Cookies Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how PlutusDoc uses cookies and browser storage. Cookies are small values saved by a browser and sent with later requests. Local storage and session storage save values in the browser without sending them with every request.

PlutusDoc currently uses first-party cookies and browser storage for service operation, security, preferences, and document analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or load a third-party website analytics script.

2. Cookies we use

The exact cookie name may vary by environment or authentication configuration. PlutusDoc uses the following categories:

  • Authentication and security cookies keep a user signed in, support sign-in redirects, and protect authentication requests. These cookies are necessary for account access.
  • The plutusdoc_active_team_id cookie remembers the Team workspace selected by a signed-in user.
  • Document-access cookies remember successful access to a password-protected shared document for up to eight hours. They are HTTP-only and are not available to page scripts.

3. Browser storage we use

PlutusDoc uses browser storage for the following service features:

  • Public-document session and visit values distinguish visits and support document-owner analytics such as opens and engagement.
  • Plutus conversation history and the active conversation are saved locally so a user can continue recent chats in that browser.
  • Interface preferences, including the Plutus panel width, are saved locally.
  • Theme and other framework preferences may be saved so the interface remains consistent between visits.

4. Document analytics

When someone opens a shared document, PlutusDoc may record opens, section engagement, downloads, link clicks, a random browser-session identifier, visit count, reduced browser information, a truncated network address, and country-level location. This information is shown to the document owner and authorized Team members to help them understand document activity.

Document analytics are first-party product functionality. Removing browser storage can reset the local session or visit value, but it does not delete analytics already recorded on the server. Privacy and deletion requests are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Your controls

You can delete or block cookies and site data through browser settings. Blocking authentication or document-access cookies may prevent sign-in, Team selection, or access to a protected document. Clearing local storage removes locally saved conversations and preferences from that browser and may cause a future document visit to appear as a new session.

Because PlutusDoc does not currently use optional advertising or third-party analytics cookies, there is no separate advertising-cookie consent setting.

6. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our use of cookies, browser storage, or analytics changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required.

Questions about cookies or browser storage may be sent to NJ Media LLC at dev@plutusdoc.com.
